Stars in Their Eyes comes back to life for one night only… and that night Matthew, was at Beacon Bingo Margate
Last Saturday (24th November) saw four former winners of ITV’s Stars in Their Eyes come together at Beacon Bingo Margate for the first time since the 1999 Champion of Champions series, the final of which was watched by millions of viewers.
The night, which sold out, was filled with classic renditions of songs performed on the show. Some of the evening’s stars included series winners such as Jacquii Cann, Lee Griffiths, Paul Doody and Jason Searle who won the 1993, 1995, 1996 and 1998 series as Alison Moyet, Bobby Darin, Marti Pellow and Neil Diamond respectively.
Graeme Corner, general manager of Beacon Bingo Margate said; “The evening was a huge success, the turnout was fantastic and both the stars and bingo players alike had a great time throughout the evening.”
Other special guests on the evening included Robbie Allen as Bobby Vee, Mary Langsford as Carol Decker, Nicole Peters as Jennifer Rush, Hayley and Gerry Judge as The Everly Brothers, Amanda White as Dinah Washington, Cylvian Flynn as Tina Turner and general manager Graeme Corner, who took part in a special performance.
“Having such a fantastic variety of acts really made the evening special. Fans of the show from its heyday were able to watch the stars singing along right in front of them! I’m already planning the next big event here at Beacon Bingo Margate.”
Not only were players treated to a night of performances, but over £4,000 worth of prizes were won in the games of bingo played throughout the evening.
