MERKUR’s reforestation project sees the planting of 25,000 trees

Leading gaming company, MERKUR UK, based in Milton Keynes, has cemented itself as one of gaming’s most progressive corporates by supporting leading climate action platform, Ecologi and planting 10,000 trees in Kenya and 15,000 in Mozambique as part of reforestation projects.

The initiative follows on from the 2021 partnership MERKUR announced supporting the National Trust’s Woodland Appeal, which has so far mitigated 2,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (Tco2E).

Tony Boulton, MERKUR UK’s Director of Public and Political Relations explained that the association with the National Trust and this year’s latest initiative with Ecologi are part of the company’s broader 360 social purpose program.

“The 360 program was established with a remit to address broad social responsibility issues, not least those related to the environment. The Ecologi platform has more than 40,000 customers funding tree planting and high quality climate solutions, all of which are independently certified.”

“MERKUR UK is delighted to be able to contribute to such a fantastic programme of work, and we are looking forward to working with Ecologi on this initiative and building on it moving forward”, Tony added.
