How to Play Blackjack

The goal of the game: The objective of blackjack is to have a hand that is closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand, without going over 21 (known as busting).

The value of cards: In blackjack, cards 2-10 are worth their face value, while face cards (Jack, Queen, and King) are worth 10. An Ace can be worth either 1 or 11, depending on which value is more advantageous for your hand. In addition to the card values mentioned above, it’s important to note that when a player is dealt a Blackjack, which is a ten or any face card (Jack, Queen, King) along with an Ace as the first two cards, it pays out at 3 to 2, unless the dealer also has a Blackjack.

1. Placing your bets: Once you sit down at the blackjack table, place your bet within the designated betting area. The dealer will then deal two cards to each player, including themselves.
2. Making decisions: Once the cards have been dealt, you have several options:
   Hit: Ask the dealer for another card in an attempt to improve your hand. You can continue hitting until you’re satisfied with your hand or you bust by going over 21.
   Stand: Keep your current hand and decline any additional cards.
   Double down: Double your original bet and receive one more card. This option is only available on your first two cards.
   Split: If your first two cards are a pair, you can split them into two separate hands by placing an additional bet equal to your original bet. You can then play each hand individually.
   Surrender: Some blackjack games allow you to surrender your hand and forfeit half of your bet. This option is only available on your first two cards.
3. Payouts: If you win, you’ll receive a payout equal to your original bet. If you tie with the dealer, it’s considered a push and you’ll receive your bet back.
4. Repeat the process: The game will continue with players placing their bets and receiving new hands. You can keep playing for as long as you like.
