MERKUR CASINO’S FIRST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS IN FULL FLIGHT WITH AIR AMBULANCE DONATION

MERKUR Casino in Aberdeen is celebrating its first birthday by donating £5,000 to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The donation comes at a crucial time for the charity as it recently launched a nationwide appeal to help fund the service through its busiest time of the year. Due to the summer, the roads are busier, there is an increase in sporting activities and more public events, all leading to a significant increase in accidents and medical emergencies.

Based out of Aberdeen Airport, Helimed 79 is one of two helicopters within the SCAA fleet which both have an operational area of around 30,000 square miles across the country, and each year requires funding of £5.2m to continue operating the life-saving service.

Since opening its doors one year ago, MERKUR Casino Aberdeen has strived to provide an exceptional gaming experience for its customers, offering a world-class selection of table games including blackjack, poker and roulette, along with the latest slots games.

The £5,000 donation kick starts the first-year birthday celebrations, with a weekend of entertainment, big wins and local talent including Chris Ashton who has previously performed with fellow Scottish acts Wet Wet Wet and Lewis Capaldi.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer for MERKUR Casino UK, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our first anniversary by contributing to a cause that is so important to our community. Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance performs an invaluable service, and we are proud to support their life-saving work. This donation is our way of expressing our appreciation for the support we have received from the Aberdeen community over the past year and giving something back.” Kate Loades, community fundraising manager at SCAA, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by MERKUR. Donations like these are essential for maintaining our operations and ensuring that we can continue to provide rapid response medical care to those in need. This contribution will have a direct impact on saving lives.”
