Beacon Bingo Cricklewood caller is runner up for Caller of the Year

Beacon Bingo Cricklewood is hosting celebrations this week, after customer favourite Michael Farley was runner up in the National Bingo Game’s ‘Caller of the Year’ competition.

After a ten-year break, the competition made its return in 2019 and saw the initial 200 entrants whittled down to just six callers at the final held a Buzz Bingo in Birmingham.

The final saw customers from across the UK come to support their favourite caller, with a number of Cricklewood regulars cheering on Michael.

The judging panel, which included Miles Baron CEO of The Bingo Association; Blake Robson Bingo Caller of The Year 2007; Lyn Staunton Variety representative; and Tom Watson Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, were watching the callers stage presence, showmanship and more technical aspects such as game management and pace.

On his amazing performance, Michael said; “When I first found out I was in the final six out of 200 entrants I was absolutely amazed. When I’m up on stage calling the numbers I don’t see it as a job, just something I love to do! Huge congratulations to the winner, Donna Kunyo, and the other finalists.”

Marketing manager, Simon Coombes said; “Michael is one of our most beloved callers across Beacon Bingo, so to see him recognised like this is wonderful. We saw a number of recognisable faces in the audience at the final, which just goes to show how popular he is! Congratulations to all finalists, you’re all winners in our eyes.”
