£200,000 investment set to transform popular entertainment centre in Plymouth

Leading gaming company MERKUR Slots has invested £200,000 to relocate and transform its entertainment centre in Plymouth, in a big to accelerate business growth in the venue and drive increased high street footfall.

The relocation and refurbishment is part of a nationwide programme that will see MERKUR Slots invest over £5 million on UK high streets over the next 12 months to open new venues, support local economies and create new jobs.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer of MERKUR Slots’ parent company MERKUR Casino UK, said: “The transformation of our newly relocated Plymouth venue outlines our long-term commitment to the town and our pride in continually investing and innovating in the local area, to help create a vibrant high street that generates employment and encourages visitors.

“It means a lot to be able to support the local community and economy in Plymouth and the surrounding areas via this relocation and refurbishment, having already generated 600 jobs across the UK in the last 12 months through developing existing venues and opening new ones.”

The relocated George Street venue features the latest bingo and digital slot machines, with the emphasis firmly on low stake gaming and pay-outs ranging from £5 to £500, and an extensive library of new and classic games. Customers also receive unlimited free refreshments.
